Rites Held For Fannie Andrick

Mrs. Fannie E. Andrick, age 83, of Washington Street, Elizabeth, died at her residence Friday morning, January 21, following an illness of the past few months.

She was born in Wirt County August 28, 1893, daughter of the late William and Clara Yoho Groves.

She was a faithful member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, was a member for nearly 55 years of Rebekah Lodge No. 128 of Elizabeth, was a charter member of the United Methodist Women, and had been active in past years in other local organizations.

Mrs. Andrick was popular throughout this community during the 60-some years she resided here, and will be fondly remembered by a host of friends, both among the elder and younger generations, for her cheerfulness, helpfulness, quiet humor, and her constant support of worthwhile community projects. She and her husband, Emmett C. Andrick, had happily observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in May of 1975.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. William (Evah) Harper, of Marlinton, W.Va., and Mrs. Shannon B. (Helen) Harris, of Newark, Rt. 3, City; a half-brother William McLain, of Akron, O.; four half-sisters, Mrs. Edna Reed, Waskish, Minn., Mrs. Zanna Park, Davisville, Mrs. Hazel Radabaugh, Mineral Wells, and Mrs. Isabelle Hall, Sun City, Ariz.; four granddaughters, Fran Baldwin, of Charleston, Marion Weiser, Parkersburg, Nancy Pottmeyer, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Barbara Harris, Parkersburg; one great-grand-daughter, Evah Pottmeyer; and one great-grandson, Doug Weiser.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Groves, a victim of drowning at Palestine in 1927.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Elizabeth U.M. Church with the Rev. Charles Wilkinson, the Rev. Ruby Wilkinson and the Rev. Casey Stinespring officiating, and interment was in the Pisgah Cemetery, Garfield Rd. The Matheny-Mace Funeral Home of Elizabeth was in charge of the arrangements.
