Rites Last Week for 'Pat' Riddle
Horace D. (Pat) Riddle, 74, of Parkersburg, was dead on arrival at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in that city Tuesday morning, December 13.
A very likeable man and member of a prominent Elizabeth family, he was born in Wirt County July 8, 1903, a son of the late Edward and Daisy Ratliff Riddle. He spent his boyhood and young manhood years here. He had resided in Parkersburg for many years, where he first managed the old original Hamburger Inn restaurant for his uncle, Phil Pappas. He also was engaged in the restaurant business in Canton, O., for a time, and also the old Liberty Grille in Parkersburg.
He is survived by a brother, Okey Riddle, and a sister, Mrs. Alma Lantz, both of Baltimore, Md.
He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
The funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pomroy Funeral Home Chapel, City, with the Rev. Wilbert Stinespring officiating and interment was in the Elizabeth K. of P. Cemetery.
