William D. Baker, aged 72, of 1138 Joy Ave., Akron, O., died in General Hospital there April 5, 1958, after a long illness.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Apr. 8; in Schermesser Funeral Home.
Mr. Baker was born in Elizabeth, a son of the late Elmer and Alice Hickman Baker. He had left here in his earlier years, and had been a resident of Akron for the past 16 years. He was a member of the East Akron Eagles. He had been employed at various poultry stores in and near Akron.
Survivors include a son, Elmer M. Baker, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Vogt of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Baker, of Akron; and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Bennett, Akron, and Mrs. Ruth Hupp, Palestine, W.Va.
