Mrs. Clara Roberts
Mrs. Clara Dye Roberts, 81, of 1304 23rd St., Parkersburg, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday of last week at her home following several years of ill health, which became serious four months ago.
She was born in Elizabeth, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Catherine Roush Dye, and went to Parkersburg in 1916. Her husband, Arthur O. Roberts, preceded her in death in 1919. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Central W.C.T.U.
Survivors include: one son, John Roberts, of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Mrs. J. Thomas Dulaney, Mrs. W. Dale Ball and Miss Esta Roberts all of Parkersburg; one brother, Charles L. Dye, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Gilmore and Mrs. Nora Parsons, both of Parkersburg; and 12 grandchildren. A daughter, Velma Roberts Lang, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, the Rev's. C.C. Caverlee and A.S. Kelley officiating, and burial was in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery here.
