Genevieve Sheppard

DEATH CAME ON WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Genevieve Eberhart Sheppard, aged 42, wife of Milford C. Sheppard, City, died at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 1965, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg.

Born in Wirt County May 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ray Eberhart, and Mrs. Ethel Gibson Eberhart of Elizabeth.

Following her graduation from Wirt County High School, she attended Potomac State College, and later did clerical work for a government agency in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of the Elizabeth Methodist Church and of Circle No. 3, Women's Society of Christian Service. She held membership in Wirt Chapter No. 113, Order of the Eastern Star and was an officer of the Chapter, serving last year as marshal and this year as sentinel; and was serving as guardian treasurer of Bethel No. 5, International Order of Job's Daughters. She was a former leader of a local Brownie Scout Troop.

In partnership with her mother, Mrs. Sheppard operated The Casual Post, local ladies apparel shoppe, for a few recent years until forced to retire because of illness last summer

Besides her husband and her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Janet Renee Sheppard, 15 years of age and a Sophomore in Wirt County High School. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, from the Elizabeth Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Foley, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth K. of P. Cemetery.

The body will be taken to the Church to lie in state for one hour prior to the time of services.
