Ernest N. (Squint) Villers, 51, City, died at his home Sunday evening, November 20, at 7 p.m., following a long illness.
He was born at Paden City, Tyler County, May 1, 1915, a son of John M. and Emma Whitesell Villers, City.
Squint was an oilfield worker and was forced to retire a few months ago on account of failing health. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Mrs. Sylvia P. Villers; four sons, Tommy Villers, Branson, Mo., Buddy Villers, Nevada, Bobby Villers, City, and Gary Wayne Villers, at home; a daughter, Mary Ann Villers, at home; three brothers, Earl (Bert) Villers, Dick Villers and Harold Villers, all of Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Robey and Mrs. Lee Roberts, both of Vienna; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pomroy Funeral Home Chapel, City, with the Rev. Harry C. Foley, City, and the Rev. Joe Hutchinson, Rt. 2, City, officiating. Burial was in the Elizabeth K. of P. Cemetery.
