Christopher L. Bonner

Christopher Lee Bonner, 75, of Webster Springs, died Monday, March 1, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Juanita Parsons, City, of a heart attack.

We was born in Randolph County Oct. 3, 1889, a son of John and Matilda Ware Bonner, both deceased. He was a member of the Pt. Mountain Methodist Church, and a member of Cass Lodge No. 124, AF & AM, and of the Scottish Rite bodies of Wheeling.

Mr. Bonner had worked as a bookkeeper for the West Virginia Pulp & Paper Co. for 22 years at Slaty Fork. He also formerly worked for the Pardee - Curtin Coal Co., in Webster Springs, and had been a farmer in Webster County. He and Mrs. Bonner came here to reside with their daughter last October.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Clara Bonner, who also resides with her daughter here; one son, Hubert Lee Bonner, Nitro; and the daughter, Mrs. Parsons.

Also surviving him are a sister, Mrs. Annie Hanna, Webster Springs; two brothers, Noah Bonner, Webster Springs, and Harman Bonner, Monterville; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pomroy Funeral Home, City, with the Rev. Harry Foley officiating. Burial was in the Elizabeth Cemetery with members of Wirt Lodge No. 132, AF & AM, in charge of the graveside rites.
