E.A. Robinson Rites Held Sunday

Elven A. Robinson, 63, of Rt. 4, City, widely known and popular service station operator and trucker, died about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, following an illness of only a few weeks duration. He had undergone major surgery about a month ago, and was apparently beginning to make a recovery, but became critically ill that morning, and passed away shortly after he was readmitted to the hospital.

He was born in Wirt County September 16, 1908, a son of the late Burton and Rosa Adams Robinson.

He was a member and deacon of the Two Ripple Baptist Church, had engaged in farming much of his lifetime, conducted a trucking business for oil and gas line supplies, and for the past 11 years, in conjunction with a son, Charles Robinson, had owned and operated Robinson's Esso Service Station in Elizabeth.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Addie Valentine Robinson; four sons, Boyd, of Palestine, Charles and Gary, both of Elizabeth, and Wayne Robinson, of Parkersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Willadean) Martin, of Parkersburg, Mrs. Ernest (Geraldine) Brown, of Panama City, Fla., and Mrs. Ronald (Rosalie) Dolobach, of Silver Spring, Md.; two brothers, Harold Robinson, of St. Marys, and George R. Robinson, of Rt. 2, City; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Smith, of Harrisville, Mrs. Heloise Higgins, Rt. 2, City, Mrs. Zetta Mae Doty, City, Mrs. Wynema LeMasters and Mrs. Naomi Kirschner, both of Greensboro, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters and one brother.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Two Ripple Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Battin and the Rev. Chester Hutchinson officiating. Interment was in the Elizabeth K. of P. Cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of the arrangements.
