Hill, Mrs. Ellen - Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Center Valley Methodist Church at Pee Wee, Wirt County, by Rev. Don Goff and Rev. Ulysses Rake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hill, 71, of Leroy, Wirt County, died Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Golden Crew of Leroy. She was a native of Jackson County and recently had lived in Charleston for eight years. Mrs. Hill was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church at Spring Hill and was the wife of the late Orval Hill. Surviving are a son, Doncel of Cocoa, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Hill of Akron and Mrs. Mabel Kelley of Charleston; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The body is at Pomroy mortuary at Elizabeth.

Mrs. Ellen Hill

Mrs. Ellen Hill, 71, died Monday at 12:05 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Golden Crew, of Rt. 1, Leroy.

She was born in Jackson County March 16, 1888, a daughter of the late Aaron and Catherine Bumgarner Ruble, and was a member of the St. Lukes Methodist Church, at Spring Hill, Charleston, where she formerly resided. She was a charter member of Hope Council No. 24, Daughters of America, at Peewee.

Survivors, in addition to the daughter at whose home she died, include a son, Donzel Hill, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Hill, Akron, O., and Mrs. Mabel Kelly, Charleston; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval W. Hill; and one son, Garnet Hill.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Center Valley Methodist Church near peewee, with the Rev. Don Goff of Chattanooga, Tenn., and The Rev. Ulysses Rhae officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of arrangements.
