Harry E. Keener Dies Suddenly

Harry Edward Keener, age 55, of Elizabeth, died at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg on Monday morning, March 4, after suffering a heart attack shortly after going to work at the mattress and box factory there. He had been a hospital patient a few weeks ago, but apparently had made a good recovery, and his death was totally unexpected.

He was born at Apolla, Pa., was a retired Army veteran, with service, during and several years after World War II, and was employed by the Bonded Sleep Products Inc., Parkersburg. He attended the Beulah Hill Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by has widow, Mrs. Johanne Siebert Keener; two sons, Robert Allen and Harry Edward Keener, Jr., of Elizabeth; a daughter, Linda Cunningham, of Grantsville; two step-daughters, Caroll Bise and Georgene Keener of Elizabeth; four brothers, Earl and Cecil of Akron, 0., John C. of Cuyahoga Falls, 0., and Wilmer of Wescovina, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Fought of Elizabeth, and Mrs. Sam Heffelfinger of Ford City, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at the Mace Funeral Home, City, with the Rev. Frank J. Turnbull officiating, and interment will be in the Beulah Hill Cemetery.
