Mrs. Amanda Daugherty

Mrs. Amanda Daugherty, aged 89, of Little hocking, Ohio, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chloe Hickman, of Little Hocking, on Saturday evening, July 20.

She was born in Wirt County October 9, 1867, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Boice. Her mother was the former Rachel Province. Mrs. Daugherty was a member of the Methodist Church for 75 years.

In addition to the daughter at whose home she died, and with whom she had resided for the past 20 years, she is survived by two sons, Oliver Daugherty, of near Palestine, and U.S. District Attorney Duncan Daugherty, of Huntington; another daughter, Mrs. Lenora Brown, Route 3 City; one sister, Mrs. Mary Woodyard, of Chester, O., 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Daugherty, in 1937; two sons and one daughter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Center Valley Methodist Church, with the Rev. R. [?] Phillips of Parkersburg officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pomroy - Mace Funeral Home, City, was in charge of arrangements.
