Mrs. Rosa Jane Fouts

Mrs. Rosa Jane Fouts, 93, died Saturday at the home of a son, Thurman Fouts in Clinton, O., where she had been visiting of the past two months.

Mrs. Fouts was born Oct. 2, 1866 in Tyler County, W. Va., a daughter of the late Shadrack and Selinda Pierpont Mason. On Sept. 2, 1886, she was married to Claud E. Fouts, who preceded her in death April 27, 1937. For the past 11 years she had made here home with a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Moncrif of Lowell, O., RFD.

She resided for several years during her early married life with her family on Crane Nest Run of Wirt County.

Survivors include Mrs. Moncrief and Mrs. Zelma Pursley of Leroy, W. Va., daughters; two sons, Thurmon, at whose home she died, and Laymond Fouts of Youngstown; a foster daughter, Mrs. Beulah Price of Everett, Wash.; 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Center Valley Methodist Church in Wirt County, with the Rev. Howard Prine officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
