Mrs. Corba E. Mace Rites Last Friday At Beulah Hill

Mrs. Corba England Mace, 71, of 903 Pike Street, Parkersburg, a former long-time and deeply respected Wirt County rural resident, passed away Wednesday, April 28, at the Christian Anchorage Nursing Home, Marietta, O., following an extended illness.

She was born She was born May 3, 1893, in Wyoming County, West Virgina, a daughter of the late William and Nichati Lester England.

Mrs. Mace was a member of the Athens (W. Va.) Baptist Church. She had resided in the Newark area (Route 3, Elizabeth) of Wirt County for many years until 1949 when she moved to Parkersburg. She and her husband, Charles Edward Mace, who preceded her in death, had partially reared and cared for approximately 30 young folks in their home during the years they resided in Wirt County, and the Mace home was a popular

visiting place for a multitude of friends of their family members.

She is survived by five sons, Joseph, Curtis and Lester Mace all of Parkersburg, and Jack and Roy Mace, both of Elizabeth; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mildred) Trippett of Glen Burnie, Md., Mrs. Charles (Lady Ruth) Scott, and Mrs. Robert (Patty) Fought, both of Parkersburg; 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the

Beulah Humble Memorial Presbyterian Church on Beulah Hill, with the Rev. Irvin Conner officiating. Burial was in the Beu1ah Cemetery. Mace Funeral Home of Elizabeth was in change of the arrangements.
