Alonzo M. Miller Rites at Center Valley

Alonzo M. Miller 75 of the Peewee Community, RFD, Leroy, died Saturday morning, February 13, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, following a long illness.

Born in Jackson County, he was a son of the late Henry Francis and Emma Balderson Miller. He was a retired blacksmith, and had been employed by the Cameron Tool & Supply Co., Cameron, W.Va. He and his family had moved back to the Peewee Community a few years ago, and he had attended the Center Valley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Belva McVey Miller; one son, Gerald Miller, at home; a son and daughter by a former marriage, Delbert A. Miller of Cuyahoga Falls, O., and Mrs. Geraldine Simmons of Wayne, Pa.; three brothers, George Miller, New Brighton, Pa., Okey, of Parkersburg, and Richard Miller of Tallmadge, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Tennie McKibben, Venna, and Mrs. Amy Speasmaker, Columbus, O.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Center Valley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Icenhower officiating, and burial was in the church cemetery. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
