B.H. Rawson

B.H. Rawson, aged 89, died at his home on Route 1, near Porterfield, Ohio, Sunday evening, Jan. 27, following an extended illness.

He was born in Ritchie County Nov. 2, 1867, a son of the late Thomas and Joanna Corbin Rawson. He was a one-time resident of Elizabeth, but had left here about 1915. He had lived at Porterfield for the past 20 years.

He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and a member of the Burnsville Lodge No. 87, A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dale Vernon Rawson; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Livesay, Columbus, O., Mrs. Treba Thrasher and Mrs. Pearl Strom, both of Charleston; two sons, C.H. Rawson, Washington, D.C., and Arthur Rawson, of Newport News, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Morris, of Porterfield, O.; two brothers, C.E. Rawson, of Los Angeles, Calif., and the Rev. J.C. Rawson of Holland Patten, N.Y.

Funeral services were conducted from the Spencer Funeral Home in Belpre, O., at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. T.B. Turley officiating. Burial was in the K. of P. Cemetery at Elizabeth.
