Mrs. Viola Bailey (1963)

Mrs. Viola Anna Bailey, 79, died Friday, March 1, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Tanner, Rt. 1, Waverly, W. Va., where she had made her home for some time.

She was born in Wood County, daughter of the late John Henry and Virginia Criss Leasure, and attended the Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, William Bailey, Loudenville, Ohio, and Robert Bailey, Medina, O.; four daughters, Mrs. Verna Woodring, Loudenville, O.; Mrs. Lulu Mason, Lisbon, O., Mrs. Hazel Tanner, Rt. 1, Waverly, and Mrs. Opal Somerville, Palestine; 56 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren, and 108 great, great grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Leasure, Constitution, O., and Mrs. Clara Sheets, Parkersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Bailey, three sons, and four daughters.

Funeral services were conducted from the Bethel Methodist Church, State Rt. 14, at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Paul Higgins of Palestine officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of arrangements.
