Services Held for Mrs. Ica Bibbee (1972)

Mrs. Ica Bibbee, 69, of Route 3, City, on Beulah Hill, passed away about 4 a.m. Sunday, February 20, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg following a few months illness.

Born in Wirt County October 25, 1902, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Lilly Dent Kerns.

Earlier in her life, she had taught school for a number of years in Wirt County. She was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, Smithville Temple N. 65 of the Pythian Sisters, and the Beulah Hill Homemakers Club.

Popularly known by the nickname, "Ike," she was widely appreciated by a host of friends for her wit, humor and pleasant disposition, sort of "the life of the party" at many gatherings; yet was serious and effectively helpful in a variety of community activities.

Survivors include her husband, Harry L. Bibbee; two sons, Harry L. Bibbee, Jr., of Parkersburg, and Richard Bibbee of Rt. 3, City; one half-brother, Casey Kerns, City; one half-sister, Mrs. Lottie Wolfe, of Parkersburg; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two half-brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Elizabeth, United Methodist Church with the Rev's. Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ruby Wilkinson officiating. Interment was in the Elizabeth K. of P. Cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of the arrangements.
