Rites Conducted For H.B. Allman

Funeral services for Howard Burley Allman, 90, of Rt. 3, Elizabeth, who died at the Worthington Manor Wednesday, October 6, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Slate Chapel U.M. Church. Burial was in the Merrill Chapel Cemetery.

He was born in Wirt County, a son of the late Levi and Catherine Amanda Kelley Allman. He was a member of the Slate Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Clegg Allman; two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Somerville, of Slate, and Mrs. Helen Moore, of Rockport; one brother, Early W. (Jake) Allman of Elizabeth (who died last weekend, four days after his brother's death); one sister, Mrs. Inez Saffles, of Akron, O.; 16 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
