Services Tuesday For Ethel Knotts

Mrs. Ethel Knotts, 76, of 2707 27th St., Parkersburg, died Saturday, June 12, at her home.

She was born in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Sam E. and Sophia Brown Marshall.

She was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church, where she was president of her Bible class for 20 years. She was a member of the American Assoc. of Retired Persons, B&O Veterans organization, and National Assoc. of Retired Railroad Veterans.

Surviving are her husband, Simon A. Knotts; four sons, Stanton, Leland, Eugene and Paul Knotts, all of Parkersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Archer, Mrs. Sarah Jane Shumway, both of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Doris DeSouza of Livonia, Mich.; two brothers, Jack and Everett, both of Parkersburg; a step-sister, Mrs. Sarah Miller, of Lecanto, Fla.; 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Underwood officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.
