Harvey Richard Dies At Age Of Eighty-Six

Last rites for Harvey Richard were held from the Munday church March 14 with the Rev. J. M. Snider, pastor of the U. B. Church, officiating. Interment was in the Wolverton cemetery and was in charge of W. M. Pomroy, Elizabeth undertaker.

Mr. Richard died Saturday at his home near Munday at the age of 86 from pneumonia. Born in Ritchie county February 9, 1852, he was united in marriage to Emiline Curry in September, 1874. To this union were born seven children: Ottie, Roy and Okey Richard, Mrs. Ellen Dewees, Mrs. Lola Maze and Mrs. Blanche Davis. Ollie Richard died in infancy.

Besides the 6 surviving children, he leaves his wife, thirty-six grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Louden, of Cornwallis, and George, of Fairmont. Three brothers, Spencer, Clelland and Philip, and three sisters, Martha, Alcinda and Janie, preceded him in death.

Mr. Richard came to Wirt county in 1890 and has made his home here for the past 47 years. An influential citizen, Mr. Richard had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances to mourn his passing.
