Mrs. Sarah Rose Mills

Mrs. Sarah Rose Mills, 83, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Denver Wilson, 4005 9th Ave., Parkersburg.

She was born at Creston, Wirt County, May 4, 1876, the daughter of John and Patience Boice Richards, and was a member of the Church of Christ at Brohard.

Her husband, Otis Mills, preceded her in death in 1940.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Simmons of Brohard, Mrs. Alvaretta Wilson of Parkersburg, Mrs. Helen Cain of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Beulah Jones of Clarksburg; two sons, Ernest Mills of Parkersburg, and Bernard Mills of Annamoriah; a brother, J.P. Richards, Parkersburg; a sister Dovie Whitecotton, also of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Straight Creek Baptist Church at Brohard. The Rev. R.L. Phillips officiated, and interment was in the Hartley Cemetery. Kimes Funeral Home of Parkersburg was in charge of arrangements.
