Services Today For Mrs. Lucky

Mrs. Gertrude Watkins Lucky, 84, of Rt. 1, Leroy (Fulls Fork, Wirt County) died Tuesday, September 10, at her residence.

Born in Wirt County July 5, 1890, she was a daughter of the late Jefferson and Mary Ann Dobson Watkins.

She was a member of the Center Valley United Methodist Church. She was a skilled craftsman in the art of basket weaving, for which she had received national acclaim a few years ago.

Surviving are one son, Raleigh Lucky of Rt. 1, Leroy; one brother, Pearl Watkins of East Liverpool, O.; one sister, Jessie Looman of Newell; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded I death by her husband, Willie C. Lucky, in February of this year.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at the Center Valley United Methodist Church on Fulls Fork with the Rev. Ezra Higgins officiating, and interment was in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of the arrangements.
