'Bush' Garretson Dies in Akron, Ohio

Funeral services for Charles ("Bush") Garretson, 84, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Creston, who died in his sleep Thursday, November 30, at his home, were conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Snyder Cemetery at Creston. The Rev. Bud Graham of Creston was the officiating clergyman.

He was born at Creston February 2, 1888, a son of the late Dave and Priscilla Thomas Garretson.

Mr. Garretson was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Creston. He moved to Akron 60 years ago, where he was employed at the Firestone Rubber Company, having retired in 1953. He was a member of the Eagles Local 7, United Rubber Workers.

He is survived by one son, Stanley Garretson, of Akron; two brothers, Chester Garretson of Akron, and Lawrence Garretson, of Zanesville, O.; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Martin, of Charleston; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Adaline Merrill Garretson.

Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of the arrangements.
