Alvin Greathouse Rites Held July 4

Funeral services for Alvin (Hayes) Greathouse, 89, of 1342 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, who died Wednesday, July 1, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July Fourth, at the Ogdin Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Keck was the officiating clergyman and interment was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Born June 19, 1881, in Spencer, he was a son of the late Samuel A. and Emma Short Greathouse. A superintendent of the Tri-County Producing Co., he was a member of the First Christian Church and of the Jr.OUAM.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Greathouse, a former Wirt Countian; two children, Mrs. Eileen Goudy, and Alvin Greathouse, both of Parkersburg; and one grandson Michael Gates Goudy, Parkersburg.
