Mrs. Ella Mills Rites Tuesday
Mrs. Ella Mae Mills, 87, of 117 Riverview Drive, Marietta, Ohio, died at the Marietta Memorial Hospital Saturday morning, April 22.
She was born in Wirt County August 1, 1890, daughter of the late Samuel and Almira Sprouse Stewart.
After many years of Wirt County residency at Munday and Elizabeth, where she was a well respected homemaker, she and her late husband moved to Reinersville, O., where they were owners and operators of a general store and gasoline station for many years.
Mrs. Mills possessed a quiet and pleasant personality, was kind, accommodating in business, and had a deep love for family members and friends. Some time after the death of her husband, she gave up the business at Reinersville and moved two or three years ago to Marietta.
She is survived by two sons, G. Clark Mills, of Belpre, O., and L. Donald Mills, of Parkersburg; two daughters, Genevieve Mills and Iwana Simon, both of Marietta; seven grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death in January of 1974 by her husband, James Howard Mills; and by a son, O.C. (Dave) Mills.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pomroy Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabeth, with the Rev. Casey Stinespring officiating, and interment was in the Elizabeth K. of P. Cemetery.
