Rites Monday for Roy Boyce

Roy Leonard Boice, 85, formerly of Rt. 1, Elizabeth, died Friday, June 2, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hazel Cline, of Charleston, with whom he had resided for six years.

He was born in Wirt County, son of the late U.L. and Sarah Boice. A highly regarded retired farmer, he was a member of the Prosperity Brethren Church.

In addition to the daughter, he is survived by a son, Garell Boice, of Spencer; a brother, Elmer Boice, of Rt. [], Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Bridges, Deland, Fla. and Mrs. Ada Stealey, Parkersburg; and by three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mildred West Boice, in 1972; and one son, two brothers and two sisters.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Franklin & Son Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Craig Michel officiating, and interment was in the Dunkard Cemetery in Wirt County.
