Rites Tomorrow in Ravenna, O., For Hollie L. Vandale

Hollie L. Vandale, 82, of 6390 Rock Spring Rd. Charleston Twp., Ravenna, Ohio, did Tuesday, April 17.

A very popular former resident of Wirt County, he was born at Reedy, West Virginia, August 6, 1896. He had resided at Charleston Township in Ohio for the past 31 years.

Mr. Vandale was employed as a radio operator at the Ravenna Arsenal, from which he retired in 1962. He was a member of the Dry Point Methodist Church at Reedy, a member of Wirt Lodge No. 82, AF & AM, and was a veteran of World War I. He served in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.

Hollie was a very likeable and cheerful man, and for many years of his Ohio residency, he and family members delighted in occasional visits back to this area.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Thorn Vandale; one son Chalmer Vandale, at home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Opal) Gibson, of Rt. 1, Elizabeth, and Mrs. George (Laura) Dobrilovic, of Ravenna, O.; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 o’clock tonight (Thursday) at the Wood Funeral home in Ravenna, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Charleston Cemetery.
