Jobie E. Bennett

Jobie E. Bennett, 78, of Palestine, Wirt county, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in Veterans' Hospital, Clarksburg.

Born March 18, 1885, in Jackson county, he was the son of Joseph and Moriah Hughes Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was a member of the Palestine Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Adelia E. Bennett; four daughters, Miss Blanche Bennett, Columbus, O., Mrs. Richard Bibbee, Ashland, O., Mrs. Clifford Peters, Mansfield, O., and Mrs. Sabrie Fox, Parkersburg; three sons, Paul Bennett, with the U.S. Army in Germany, Jobie Bennett, Jr., Mansfield, O., and Harold Bennett, Parkersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Braiden, Mrs. Eva Carver and Mrs. Della Staats, all of Vienna, and Mrs. Delia Nesselrode, Parkersburg; two brothers, Ernest Bennett, Parkersburg, and Mathew Bennett, Silverton; 12 grandchildren.

Three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Haines, Miss Rosa Bennett, and Mrs. Grace Miller, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisgah Methodist Church, Right Reedy. The Rev. Paul Higgins of Palestine officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of arrangements.
