Services Today For Samy Allen

Samy Allen, 67, of Creston, died at the Haught Nursing Home in Parkersburg Tuesday morning, September 19, after a long illness. He had been in very poor health since suffering some severe burns several months ago.

He was born in Wirt County, May 8, 1905, a son of the late Jacob and Sarah Piatt Allen.

He is survived by two brothers, Frank and Charlie, both of Parkersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha McDonald, Parkersburg, and Miss Stella Allen, Akron, O.; one half-brother, Henry Allen, Parkersburg; and two half-sisters, Dorothy and Louise Allen, both of Parkersburg.

Funeral services were to be conducted at 2 p.m. today from the Mt. Pleasant Church in Wirt County, with the Rev. Paul Higgins of Davisville officiating, with burial following in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City; was in charge of the arrangements.
