Mrs. Saphrona B. Cain

Mrs. Saphrona B. Cain, 65, of Rt. 1, Elizabeth, died at her home Friday, Dec. 30, following an extended illness.

She was born June 30, 1895, at Creston, Wirt County, daughter of the late Grant and Susan Ann Martin Merrill. She was a member of the First St. Baptist Church at Fairmont.

Survivors include her husband, Benjamin H. Cain; five sons, Denzil R. and Luther L. Cain, both of Fairmont, Denver R. of Wilsonburg, W.Va., Virgil H. of Elizabeth, Rt. 1, Camden G. of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Mrs. Luetta Lemasters, Fairmont, and Mrs. Helen M. Loudin, of Rt. 1, Elizabeth; two brothers, Jesse Merrill, Elizabeth, and Joe Merrill of Newark, O.; three sisters, Mrs. Ivy Merrill, and Mrs. Nellie Lockland, both of Fairmont, and Miss Thelma Merrill of Cokesville, Pa.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pomroy Funeral Home Chapel, City, with the Rev. Richard W. Battin officiating, and interment was in the Sayre Cemetery, Rt. 3, Palestine.
