Services for Arthur Baker, 72, owner of Baker Movers, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Schermesser Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Frederick Harrold officiating.
Mr. Baker died Wednesday, Jan. 1, at his home, 1138 Joy Ave., Akron, after a long illness. He was born in Elizabeth, West Virginia, and had lived in Akron 45 years. He owned the moving firm since 1929.
Mr. Baker was a veteran of World War I and a member of Eagle Lodge 555, Buckeye Sheriff's Association and the Springfield Center Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Kelsey of Akron; and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Bennett of Akron, and Mrs. Ruth Hupp of Palestine, W.Va.
Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron.
