Services Thursday for Ira J. Baker (1963)

Ira J. Baker, 79; of Minnora, Calhoun County, died Monday, May 27, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, following an extended illness.

He was a former resident for a number of years of Creston, and was a retired oil and gas worker. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Born May 23, 1884, in Wood County, he was a son of the late Jackson and Mary Corbitt Baker.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ed Henthorn, Zanesville, O., and Mrs. P.E. Knotts, Minnora; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Campbell Baker, in 1958.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday (Memorial Day) at the Creston Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Cruikshank officiating, and, burial will follow in the Snyder Cemetery. Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, is in charge of arrangements. The body will remain there until 1 p.m. Thursday.
