Mrs. Lydia Crew Moncrief, 88, of Leroy, died Thursday, Dec. 25, at the Haught Memorial Nursing Home, Parkersburg.
She was born April 27, 1876, at Windy, daughter of the late Jahew and Elizabeth Hill McVey.
She married Lorenzo L. Crew who preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Zetta Casto of Ravenswood, Mrs. Addie Long, Ripley, and Mrs. Ellen Jacks, Parkersburg; three sons, James Crew, Websterville, O., Ernest Crew, Parkersburg, and Lawrence Crew, Orlando, Fla.; two step-sons, Delbert Crew, Leroy, and Harold Crew, Akron, O.; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She later married Walter Moncrief of Leroy, who is deceased. One step-son, Harley Moncrief of Georgia, and one sister, Mrs. Grace Sheppard of Vienna also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Center Valley Church, Wirt County.
Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, was in charge of the arrangements.
