French Wix Rites Held Wednesday

French Wix, 85, of Creston, Wirt County, died Sunday morning, July 2, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Born in Wirt County, he was a son of the late George and Suzanna Gibson Wix and was the last surviving member of his family.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Idonna Woodring Wix; two sons, Earl Wix and Basil Wix, both of Burning Springs; three grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three sons, one daughter, five brothers, two sisters, two half-sisters, and two half-brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pomroy Funeral Home chapel, City, with the Rev. Bud Graham officiating.

Burial was in the Snyder cemetery at Creston.
