Obituary
Rites Today for Alfred F. Merrill
Alfred F. Merrill, 65, of Creston, died Monday morning, October 21, in an Akron hospital.
He is formerly of Creston, but had lived in Akron for the past several months with his sister, Eula Rothwell.
He was born in Wirt County August 18, 1909, a son of the late Edward and Nellie Lockhart Merrill.
In addition to his sister, survivors include two sons, Richard A., of Akron, and Victor E., Canal Fulton, O.; one daughter, Janice Vaughn, Akron; one brother, Glen, of Akron; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
The body was received by Pomroy Funeral Home here yesterday, and services were scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Creston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bud Graham officiating, and burial in the Creston Cemetery.
