Benjamin Merrill Rites Held Monday

Benjamin F. Merrill, 66, of Waverly, Rt. 2, died Friday afternoon, March 30, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born at Creston, Wirt County, October 5, 1906, son of the late Henry and Edith (Ada) Sink Merrill, and had been a resident of Waverly since 1950.

Mr. Merrill had worked in the Viscose Department of F.M.C. Corporation for the past 26 years and had attended the Baptist Church.

His survivors include two brothers, Clarence W., of Parkersburg, Rt. 4, and Eddie H., of Parkersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Madge Hodgen, Burning Springs, Mrs. Eunice Hanna, Frederickstown, Pa., and Mrs. Ruby Bauerbach, Waterford, O.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wirt County, with the Rev. R.L. Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Franklin and Son Memorial Chapel of South Parkersburg was in charge of the arrangements.
