Bazil M. Merrill, 60, of 31 Edgewood Park Dr., Parkersburg, died Tuesday, October 6, in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
Born at Creston, Wirt County, he was the son of Robert B. and Alice Culver Merrill. He was employed for 25 years by Montgomery Ward, and for the last ten years he had worked at Dils Bros. Dept. Store. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a former trustee.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Freda Monroe Merrill; one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Martin of Charleston; one brother, Roy Merrill of Thornville, O.; two granddaughters, Cristi and Kelli Martin of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Sharon Lou Merrill.
Funeral services were held at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, with the Rev. John Kech officiating. Burial was in the K. of P. cemetery in Elizabeth.
