Services Last Friday For Mrs. Alice Brown

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Louisa Brown, 86, Rt. 4, Parkersburg, who died Tuesday, July 30, in St. Joseph's Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, at the Center Valley Methodist Church, Wirt County.

The Rev. Carl McPherson officiated with burial in Center Valley Cemetery.

Born in Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Lewis Moncrief. A resident of this community for the last 30 years, she had attended the Center Valley Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, E.W. (Doc) Brown and Beech Brown, both of Parkersburg, and Homer Brown of Uniontown, O.; five daughters, Mrs. Estella Davis and Mrs. Florence Fleak, both of Parkersburg, Mrs. Ruth Palmer of East Liverpool, O., Mrs. Lucy Lowdy of Trenton, Mich., and Ada Brown, with whom she made her home; 24 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, and two daughters.

Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
