Mrs. Ladena Brown Services Held Sunday

Mrs. Ladena Brown, 59, of 1106 Broadway Ave., Parkersburg, died Thursday, February 5, in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Born in Wirt County April 14, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Amos B. and Lonie Anderson McVey. She had been a resident of Parkersburg since 1958, when she and her husband E.W. Brown, moved from Wirt County.

Survivors, in addition to her husband include five daughters, Mrs. Paschal (Nina) Farley, Miss Betty and Miss Ruth Brown and Mrs. David (Norma) Childers, all of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Michael (Ella) Scites, City; three brothers, Roy McVey, of Leroy, Park McVey, of Parkersburg, and the Rev. Amos B. McVey, Jr., of Rockport; four sisters, Mrs. Donna Sprout, Parkersburg, Mrs. Kate Hyder, of Akron, O., Mrs. Belva Miller, of Leroy, and Mrs. Verna Brown, of Vienna; ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Center Valley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. G.W. Prine officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg.
