Miss Margaret Lee Brown, 94, of Rt. 2, City, died Monday, January 13, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, following an extended illness.
Born at Fairmont May 19, 1874, she was a daughter of the late William and Melvina Swisher Brown. She was popularly known by friends and family members as "Aunt Maggie," and for the last 12 years she had made her home with a niece, Mrs. Phillip (Eloise) Calebaugh. Miss Brown was a member of the Center Valley United Methodist Church, in the community of her former home.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Lillie Goff, of Rt. 4, City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Center Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ezra Higgins, Rt. 2, City, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of the arrangements.
