Rites Today For Mrs. Violet Lockhart

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Lockhart, 68, of 4901 2nd Ave., Parkersburg, who died Tuesday, January 25, in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after a long illness, were scheduled to e held at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at the Franklin and Son Memorial Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. H. E. Bailey officiated and burial was in the Antioch Cemetery in Wirt County.

Born in Wirt County, she was a daughter of the late Wirt and Amelia Courtney Lockhart. She was a former resident of Lynn Camp, Wirt County, but had made her home in Parkersburg for 40 years. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Denver Lockhart of Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Ava Gay Stephens, Rt 3, City; two brothers, Lawrence Lockhart, Mineral Wells, and Guy Lockhart, of Parkersburg; six sisters, Mrs. Bertha McCoy, Mrs Inez Gant and Mrs. Eula Sims, all of Parkersubrg, Rt 4, Mrs. Clara Green, Annapolis, Md., Mrs. Ruby McCoy and Mrs. Orma Hendershot, both of Parkersburg; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death in June of last year by her husband, Roy, and by one sister.
