Flora Lockhart McVey
Flora Lockhart McVey, 74, died Friday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Coplin Clinic, City, following a two-day illness.
She was born in Wirt County, the daughter of Johnson and Jennie Full Lockhart. She was a member of Center Valley Methodist Church, and of Daughters of America, Hope Lodge No. 24.
Survivors include her husband, W.F. McVey, Leroy; two sons, Doral of Palestine, and Fred W., of Parkersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Carter, Mineral Wells, and Mrs. Bernice Corbitt, Vienna; one brother Thurman Lockhart, of Sandyville; two sisters, Mrs. Lezettie Curry, of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Fannie Archer, Proctorville, O.; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Center Valley Methodist Church, with the Rev. G.W. Prine of Leroy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pomroy-Mace Funeral Home, City, was in charge of arrangements.
