Obituary
Services Yesterday For Mrs. Mae Davis
Mrs. Alcinda Mae Davis, age 88, of Route 1, Elizabeth, died at her residence at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, December 30.
She was born in Wirt County July 18, 1885, daughter of the late David and Emma Kiger Porter, and was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Windy.
She is survived by one son, Carl E. Davis, of Route 1, Elizabeth, two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ruby) Burdette and Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Sheets, both of Route 1, Elizabeth; one grandson, Charles Burdette, City, and two great granddaughters, Yvonne and Diana Burdette, City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.W. Davis in 1961.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday) at the Pomroy Funeral Home Chapel, City, with interment in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Officiating clergymen were the Rev. Harold Hewitt and the Rev. Charles Parsons.
