Obituary
Ray Davis, Wirt County Native, Dies
Ray Davis, 69, of Pike St., Parkersburg, died Sunday, January 28, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wirt County, a son of the late Charles and Ida Deem Davis, and was formerly employed by the Union Insulating Company.
Surviving are two sons, Jack L. Davis and Melvin (Sonny) Davis, both of Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Herschel (Evelyn) Kimes, Jr., Parkersburg; three grandchildren; two brothers, Harry (Bob) Davis, Parkersburg, and the Rev. Lawrence Davis, Clarksburg; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Gilbert and Mrs. Lillian Cline, both of Mineral Wells, and Mrs. Docia Rector, Porterfield, O.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Lynch Davis, in 1947, and by one brother.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday) at Kimes Funeral Home in Parkersburg with the Rev. Bill Angel officiating, and burial was in the Mayberry Cemetery in Wirt County.
