Mrs. Mary E. Thompson

Mrs. Mary E. Thompson, 70, died at the home of her daughter, Miss Mae Thompson, 546 6th St., Parkersburg, Wednesday, Dec. 17. She was born in Wirt County Aug. 11, 1888, a daughter of the late George and Bell Davis. Her husband, James S. Thompson, preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1946.

She was a member of the Bethel E.U.B. Church at Morristown.

Survivors are: one son, George Thompson, of Industry, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Lamp, of New Matamoras, O., and Miss Mae Thompson, at whose home she passed away; two step-sons, John W. Thompson, West Bridgewater, Pa., and Herbert L. Thompson, Rochester, Pa.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gant, Buckeye Lake, O., and Mrs. Blondena Dye, Mineral Wells; two brothers, Worthy Davis, Rt. 1, City, and Robert Davis, City; and 36 grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel E.U.B. Church with the Rev. C.W. Scott, Rt. 3, City, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pomroy Funeral Home, City, was in charge of arrangements.
