Services Held For Charles Roy Amos

Charles Roy Amos, 84, died Wednesday morning, October 5, at the residence of his son, Charles E. Amos, 703 39th St., Parkersburg.

Mr. Amos was born in Wirt County, a son of the late James E. and Minnie Belle Amos.

He was retired from American Viscose Corp., was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of the Barracks No. 456, World War I Veterans.

Survivors are his wife, Nellie Hartleben Amos, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a daughter, Audrea D. Dowler, Parkersburg; the son with whom he resided; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Knotts, Rt. 3, Elizabeth, Mrs. Lena Heatherly, Mrs. Thelma Ward and Mrs. Evelyn Starcher, all of Parkersburg; one brother, Kendall Amos, of Rt. 1, Elizabeth; one step-daughter and two step-sons.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with the Rev. Arthur Tucker officiating, and burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.
