Rites Held For Ralph E. Amos

Ralph Edward Amos, 77, of Rt. 1, City, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 24, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.

He was born in Wirt County, a son of the late James and Minnie Amos.

He was a farmer, and had retired from the former American Viscose plant in Parkersburg in 1956 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church and was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Rockport Council.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Blanche Martin Amos; two sons, Ronald Eugene Amos, Rt. 1, Elizabeth, and Larry Edward Amos, of Parkersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Full of Parkersburg and Newark, and Mrs. Carolyn Archer, of Walker; two brothers, Kendall Amos, Rt. 1, City, and Roy Amos, Vienna; four sisters, Lena Heatherly of Florida, Elizabeth Knotts of Rt. 1, City, Evelyn Starcher and Mrs. N.E. Ward, of Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Limestone United Methodist Church with the Rev. Amos McVey officiating, and interment was in the Limestone Cemetery.

Members of the Jr.OUAM conducted memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Kimes Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
