Mrs. Minnie B. Amos

Mrs. Minnie Bell Amos, 88, of 1813 Clegg St., Parkersburg, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following a three-week illness.

She was the widow of James E. Amos. She was born Aug. 17, 1872, in Ohio.

Having spent most of her life in Wirt County, she had lived for the past eight years with a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Dowler, on Clegg Street, Parkersburg. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Wirt County.

She is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Knotts, Rt. 3, City, Mrs. Helen Heatherly, Parkersburg, and Mrs. Thelma Ward, Belpre, O.; four sons, Ray Amos, Parkersburg, William D. Amos of Bancroft, Ralph Amos, Rt. 3, City, and Wirt County Assessor Kendall Amos, of Palestine Road.

Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Amos was preceded in death by three daughters and three sons.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Limestone Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Higgins officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home of Parkersburg is in charge of arrangements.
