Allie Bailey Rites Held Last Friday (1968)

Funeral services for Allie Bailey, 88, of Canton, Ohio, who died Tuesday, July 2, in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the McCray Funeral Home, City.

Burial was in the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery on Elizabeth Hill.

Born at Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Obie and Emma Jane Matthes Bailey. He had been engaged in farming in Wirt County for many years before moving two years ago to Canton, where he resided with his son Obie C. Bailey.

Survivors in addition to his son include two sisters, Mrs. Claudie Starcher of Clarksburg, and Mrs. Georgia Bailey of Pettyville; 11 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ada Bailey, who died in 1947, and twin infant daughters.
