Oscar A. Bailey Died December 10

Oscar Allen Bailey, 68, of Rt. 3, City, died at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 10.

He was born in Gilmer County, a son of the late Herbert J. and Ervie Stoneking Bailey. He attended the Jefferson Baptist Temple and was retired from the Department of Highways.

He is survived by two sons, Herbert R., Parkersburg, and Billy E., Oak Harbor, Wash.; a daughter, Betty J. Pennington; three brothers, Dr. Harley E. Bailey, pastor of Jefferson Baptist Temple, Roy H. and Charles E. Bailey, all of Parkersburg; five sisters, Gay VanHorn, Clarksburg, Edna Gilbert, the Rev. Reva Hupp and Helen Owens, both of Parkersburg, and Jean Riggs, Glenville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Franklin and Son Memorial Chapel, with burial in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
